一個好的影評，是電影以外最意想不到的賣點。2008年上畫的Skate or Die，單看片名已經知道水準如何，但因為網上一個非常精彩的影評，挑起了本人觀賞此片的慾望。節錄如下:

“Skate or die? I’d rather die. I was expecting an action movie based on skate boarding (tittle), but this movie is really nothing about skate boarding. I could say it’s about something else but it’s about nothing at all. The plot is nothing more than 2 kids watching drug dealers (cops) killing somebody (wow) and then trying to run away from them which they do really nicely , in fact you will never see the drug dealers and the kids together on a shot, why ?. No cool tricks, no 360° flip backside upside or whatever the tricks name are, just moves that any beginner could do. 文筆辛辣抵死，將電影彈得一文不值。但好的影評，並不是誘人落疊，最終讓觀眾對電影連帶影評一同失望。影評也不是給人借題發揮的作品，由一套荷里活電影反映中美政治權力的轉變。有興趣看你大話西遊，還不如自己入場觀摩。影評，就是如實地寫出作品高低好壞，寫得精確，即使是對電影無情掌摑，仍然會有人賞識，一地影壇的電影才能有所進步。

和寫影評的網友談起新近出版的電影雜誌《香港電影》，令一潭死水的香港影評重現一線生機。雖然人腳還是以從前《電影雙周刊》的班底為主，缺乏生氣，但還是踏出了重要的第一步。刊物要維持經營，不再重蹈昔日同類雜誌的覆轍，要考慮的，就是接著的第二步要怎麼走。是要為雜誌建立公信力，還是繼續寫鱔稿谷票房，其中需要更大的勇氣，卻決定了雜誌未來命運。

至於電影如何?我的想法很多，但自問不會寫得比上述引用的影評好，就乾脆不寫了。結果這篇影後感也犯了借題發揮的毛病，觀眾還是自己買碟觀摩好了。
